In 2013 I decided that it would be fun to write a blog about my musical and culinary adventures. I called it Arias and Artichokes. I published a lot in the beginning because I had time, I had lots to say and...well, I was doing a lot of cooking and singing.
Life changes and you adapt. Some things you wish you could manipulate to better suit your needs, some are so magnificent you wouldn't change a thing. But at the end of the day, you have to rest assured that you put your time and energy where you best see fit. The next morning, you start again.
The Pandemic has had a major impact on me--hopefully, for the better. My career as an Opera Singer was put on pause first with my pregnancy and then with being a full time mother. Just as I was looking to pick things up again the Pandemic came to NYC and March seems to be the month that will never end. As I've said before, live performing arts are the first to go and last to come back.
I choose to look on the bright side. I had some "time" on my hands. I decided it was time to add a new avenue to my path. I wanted something that I could be as passionate about as I am with singing. I consulted those that I trust the most and got their support. I asked lots of questions and I got the answers I was hoping for.
There is a more interesting backstory for my decision, probably better detailed in future posts, but it all boils down to needing to take some control of my life when everything seems out of my control.
I decided to get my New York Real Estate license. I will be working for a brokerage who I believe in and who believes in me. https://www.bizzarroagency.com/
I took the courses, I studied. I studied more. I took the state exam. It was HARD. I passed!
It is my desire that I will be able to continue to pursue all of my passions: Singing, Teaching and now Real Estate.
